Keep your investment beautiful for many years!
Stone Sinks & Bathtubs
Your new Impact Imports hand made stone vessel sink and bathtub represents a one-of-a-kind piece of 'furniture' for your home. Proper installation is just the first step to ensuring many years of use from your investment, and the installation doesn't stop with hooking up the drain. The final step is to properly seal your vessel sink and / or bathtub to prevent stains in make them easier to clean in the future.
Proper Installation: Seal It First!
Before you first use it, your natural stone vessel sink and bathtub should be sealed with a 'Stone Impregnator' that will help prevent the stone from absorbing liquids and potentially staining. Impact Imports recommends Miracle (brand) "511 Impregnator." Stone impregnator products can be purchased at most local building material or stone product building centers. Follow the instructions on the label carefully for proper sealing and stain prevention. Impact Imprts recommends sealing at least once per year. NOTE: if you have the opportunity to use a stone impregnator on your sink & bathtub BEFORE installation, it is much easier and you will be able to cover the drain hole and even the bottom of the sink / bathtub.)
Enhance it!
After you apply the stone impregnator, you can really enhance the beauty of your marble or onyx sink and bathtub by applying 2 or 3 applications of a 'color enhancer.' Color enhancing will bring our more contrast of colors. Impact Imports recommends Miracle (brand) color enhancer / sealer. Follow the instructions on the label carefully.
Cleaning Your Natural Stone Vessel Sink & Bathtub
IMPACT IMPORTS RECOMMENDS USING A MILD LIQUID DISH SOAP AND A SOFT CLOTH OR SPONGE TO CLEAN YOUR VESSEL SINK AND BATHTUB. If your sink and bathtub are properly sealed to begin with (and sealed on a yearly basis or more often), you will find them simple to clean. DO NOT USE AN ABRASIVE CLEANSER as this will scratch the material and make cleaning more difficult in the future. Scratching the material may also allow staining of the material to occur.
